Tips For Buying Argan Oil

Argan oil is known to be one of the rarest, hence most expensive oils in the world. Pure, original argan oil is hard to obtain and production is time-consuming, thereby its price is high. Not all Argan Oil on the market is real and pure as many so called producer may dilute it, just to make it cheaper.
Even buying Argan Oil in Morocco, doesn’t give you guarantee that oil is not diluted, unless you know where to buy. Our factory is well-known manufacturer in Morocco and it is certified with ECOCERT.
On the wave of Argan Oil popularity, there are many products popping up claiming to be “Pure Argan Oil”. Unfortunately, there are a lot of brands not worth your money. How to avoid fake argan oil and verify the authentic one? And how to choose a brand worth investing in?

HOW TO BUY GOOD ARGAN OIL
1. The Ingredients List
Look for cosmetics that have only one ingredient: 100% Argan Oil (Argania Spinosa) Kernel Oil. No preservatives, no fragrances, no parrafinum, not even water. Just pure, organic Argan Oil.
Research have shown that when you combine argan oil with other ingredients you actually DEGRADE the effects of Argan oil.
2. The packaging
Don’t buy Argan Oil sold in clear or plastic bottles. Light breaks down the oil’s best properties and dark glass is the only way to store Argan Oil. Glass packaging is also eco-friendly and fully recyclable. Any argan oil sell in clear glass should be claim to be high quality.
That is why our Argan Oil is packed in dark amber glass bottle, with easy-to-use spray cap.
3. The price
Argan Oil is very difficult to make, labour-consuming and it just can’t be for free. This is not to say that the most expensive Argan Oil is the best either. You want to pay for pure argan oil not for extensive marketing campaign and fancy packaging, right?
The price of the product is also determined by the concentration of argan on the product. Check ingredients carefully, you should not pay for a product which has a low concentration of argan oil. But as I mentioned before the best is to use pure argan oil without chemicals and parabens added.
Don’t be fool by pricey skincare brands that include Argan oil in on a bottom of a list of many other ingredients. You pay for nothing and is actually less effective this way.
4. The scent
Argan oil has a mild nutty aroma (some identify it as a smell of popcorn or rubber band). The scent disappears after few minutes upon contact with your skin, as true Argan Oil absorbs quickly.
The best quality Argan Oil should be also undeodorized. The deodorization process removes the argan nut’s scent along with many important nutrients that makes argan oil so great in the first place.
You should avoid strong smelling or odorless oil. Either way it is highly suspicious.
5. The texture
Argan Oil should be smooth, non-stocky and not too watery. Disappearing into your skin. When applying on skin should give soothing effect.
6. The color
Cosmetic argan oil has light golden yellow color. If the color is too light, the most likely is that it was mixed with other oils. Culinary argan oil is s a golden brown color.
7. The label
Ensure that your oil is labelled “100% pure”, “cold pressed” or “Made in Morocco”. And it should have at least ECOCERT certificate as well.
8. Sediment
As this is natural product, sediment is a sign of quality and there is nothing unusual. Good oil, that is not highly refined, may have a tiny bit of sediment at the bottom of the bottle and will appear a bit “cloudy”. Don’t be alarmed. You also don’t have to do anything, just use your oil as usual knowing that it is a real thing.
The sediment are insoluble fraction in the oil, composed of fatty alcohols, tocopherols, carotenoids, sterols, etc.
9. Culinary or cosmetic
There are two types of argan oil available: cosmetic grade and culinary grade.
To obtain culinary argan oil the nuts are first roasted which destroy most of the cosmetic rich nutrients. Cosmetic grade is not roasted and hence contains all the essential nutrients required by the skin and hair.
10. Source
Only buying Argan Oil with certified manufacturer can ensure its high quality.
